Enchanted Rock

Last weekend, the Young Women, and Young Men of our church went on a camp out. My mom and I went (it took five hours to drive there). On the way there, Lainey Schiavo, Madison Haughawout, and I were in the front seat with a teenager named Derick, spread out in the back. When we got there we missed the turn in three times! There was a sign that said dip and a dip in the road. Derick called Brother Echard, and said, "We're at the dip.'' Then Brother Echard hung up. So, after we had called different people on the camp out numerous times, we got Brother Echard and asked him to come get us, when we found the turn! Then we hiked uphill (more like up mountain) for two miles with our tents, toiletries, sleeping backs, etc.
Then the next morning we hiked down. (we stopped at a rock that looked kind of like a slide and climbed up it, (Lainey and I in the first picture). When we got back down the rocky hill/ mountain thing, the boys cooked breakfast while some of the boys and most of the girls hiked up a mountain/hill that probably went up to about 350 feet at the top. Lainey and I hiked together until about halfway up, then we went back down for breakfast, then after breakfast we went all the way to the top, and all the way back down. Then Selena Packard finally got there, and Madison, Lainey, Selena, and I all hiked up another giant hill together. Then, we all made it to the cave but it got smaller and darker, it was very dangerous slippery and wet, we had headlamps on, but we got cut several times and one man in front of us was nice enough to give us his leg to step on and get down through a particularly dangerous part. Selena, Lainey and I are twelve, and Madison is thirteen or fourteen. But we all got along great. I was kind of claustrophobic in the cave, and all of us wanted to get out at the first exit. Adam Strathern helped us do that. So it was pretty fun, just not the cave. On the way back Lainey, Madison and I were still in the middle, and now Derick, and Jacob Stanly, were in the back with Liam (twelve years old), in the front. we played this game called whats in your milk, and the whole car burst out laughing, we were all sleeping on and off after that, we stopped at bucees and all shared the food we each bought. Then we kept going, until we came to the meeting spot at HEB. It was 6:00 on Saturday, and we had left yesterday at 5:00. Overall it was a good charachter building experience.
